Each year, the containers along the Purple People Bridge are planted by various organizations to beautify our neighborhood and build community.  This effort is organized by a team from the Greater Cincinnati Master Gardener Association (GCMGA).   The GCMGA bridge team has been organizing the planting of these containers since 2002.

A contest is held each year and winners are announced in the fall.  The bridge is a tough environment for plant so planters are judged not only on design, but also hardiness to this environment and longevity through the season.
